Nothing Sweet Nothing Radio Features - January 7, 2008

This past Sunday, January 6th, Nothing Sweet Nothing was the featured album on 'Her Infinite Variety" on WORT-FM in Madison, WI hosted by Sue Goldwomon.

NEXT FEATURE: Sunday, January 16th on Radio Crystal Blue (http://radiocrystalblue.com/)

Gone To Press - November 11, 2007

The final artwork for Nothing Sweet Nothing has gone to press at a wonderful small independent print shop in Portland, Oregon - www.stumptownprinters.com - and will start going out to radio across the country after the new year. If you have a favorite station or program you think would dig it, please let me know.

For everyone who received a hand-made version of the record, the only thing that changes is the artwork and packaging. The disc is the same. For anyone interested in receiving the final packaging, I will be happy to mail you a copy. Just let me know.

Advance Nothing Sweet Nothing on Roots Music Folk Chart! - September 20, 2007

The advance of Nothing Sweet Nothing landed at #31 on the Roots Music Folk Chart this week. Only a handful of dj's have received it so far, so this is great news.

Lots of Good News! - August 15, 2007

The new album, Nothing Sweet Nothing, is done! For the time being, it will only be available for digital download at Itunes and various sites. For Itunes, you can click here:

Kym Tuvim - Nothing Sweet Nothing

The good reviews are already starting to come in, including an Editor's Pick over at CDBaby! If you already have the cd, please consider writing a review either at CDBaby or up at ITunes!

More good news:

• I just found out that I received an Honorable Mention from the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Contest!

• My music has been included on the OnHold Program for the City of Seattle. This means that if you call the city and are put on hold, which you are most likely going to be, there's a strong likelihood that you might hear a song from me!

That's it for now. Wishing y'all a fabulous rest of your Summer!

EMP Podcast at Brightside Broadcast - March 22, 2007

One of the new songs from the forthcoming record has been included in the EMP Podcast up at Brightside Broadcast! I'm very honored to be included among other Northwest artists also featured, including Carrie Clark and Andrea Wittgens!

Here's the direct link to listen:
http://www.brightsidebroadcast.com/brightsidepodcast/EMP.02.28.07.mp3

Here's the link to read the transcript:
http://www.brightsidebroadcast.com/micro/EMP/

The podcast is a fabulous interview with Jasen Emmons, Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Experience Music Project. In the podcast, Jasen discusses the new exhibit which features musicians, producers, and others that have shaped American popular music. The exhibit is called: "Sound and Vision: Artists Tell Their Stories".

Portland Rocks! - March 18, 2007

I just wanted to send a special thanks to everyone who came out to the show last night at Mississippi Studios! Y'all spoiled us!! :) I'm so looking forward to coming back on the 30th to share some music with another one of my favorite people and musicians on the planet - Natalia Zukerman (www.nataliazukerman.com). We'll be joined by Dan Tyack on Pedal Steel and Dobro (www.tyack.com). Should be awesome!!

Hope to see you there!

Record is Mixed! - March 9, 2007

We finished mixing the last song on Monday night. It's a somewhat surreal moment when you know the last song on your record's mixed... Especially after you've been working on it for a year... :) And, we're not quite done, but close. Still have to do the artwork and get it mastered. I'm planning on having pre-release copies ready for my April and May dates. And, *definitely* everyone who pre-ordered will have a special, hand-burned copy to listen to before June. I promise.

Mixing the new record this month! - December 4, 2006

A long time coming, but we're finally getting down to the nitty-gritty on the new record and mixing later this month. And, I have to say that I'm really happy and excited about this new project!! The as yet unnamed record has a beautifully rich and raw sonic-scape... As soon as I can, I'll get samples up here and on my Myspace page so you can check it out.

Also, for folks who have pre-bought, the record should be in the mail to you by the Spring. Otherwise, it'll be released in the Fall. If you can't wait, though, you can still pre-buy - just get in touch if you are interested.

Buy 'On The Mend' @ CDBaby in August & Get the new CD for FREE!! - August 3, 2006

If you buy a copy of 'On The Mend' from CDBaby.com between now and August 31st, I will send you a FREE, signed copy of new CD when it's done! WHY? CDBaby.com is producing & distributing 5000 copies of a sampler featuring the 'top sellers' during the month of August. If you can help me be a top-seller in August, the least I can do is give you a copy of the new record when it's done this Winter - in time for the holidays!

New York & I-Tunage - July 16, 2006

Getting ready to head to Falcon Ridge later this week and am *so* looking forward to it! So, hopefully, I'll see some of y'all there???

Also, in case some of you already have either of my cds and would like to let the world know what you think about them, please consider heading over to my pages at I-Tunes and writing a review! Just go to I-Tunes and put in my name and... there you go. :)

Thanks!! - June 18, 2006

Just wanted to shout out a big THANKYOU! to everyone who came out to the shows in Seattle @ The Tractor and in Portland @ Mississippi Studios over the last few days! YOU GUYS ROCK and WE LURVE YOU!

Falcon Ridge Tour was a BLAST! - June 10, 2006

I got home from the Falcon Ridge Preview tour (www.falconridgefolk.com) about 2 weeks ago and am still hearing the rockin' jukebox of Jim Infantino, Chris Pureka and Jason Spooner in my head! They are all SO DAMN GOOD. And, we all had such an fab time together, even though at first it felt a bit like going to summer camp and getting on the bus with a bunch of strange kids... :) But, with each show, we grew exponentially as a group of performers together and as friends. Also, on tour with us were Jason's band - Reed Chambers on drums and Andy Rice on upright bass. Both of them were INCREDIBLE. Within a few shows, they were playing on all of our songs and by the end of the tour, it was so, so SWEET. I feel so grateful to have been in such good company with those folks. So, if you haven't already, I highly encourage you to check out each of their websites and listen to their music! Here they are:

www.jimsbigego.com
www.chrispureka.com
www.jasonspooner.com

And, for Reed and Andy, you can check out their myspace pages:

Andy's: www.myspace.com/andybassface
Reed's: www.myspace.com/reedcham

If you want to see where we were, you can check that out here:

Now, GO!!

In The Studio - May 10, 2006

Haven't been keeping this part of the website very up to date, but there has been some activity brewing... We finally started recording the new record in March. A slight delay due to my decision to buy a house came in to play there, but all's settling now and I'm getting back to work! I'm on tour now (check the calendar page for dates), but get back at the end of May and will be getting back in the studio over the summer. I'll post more news as soon as there's something to post!

Voted back to perform at Falcon Ridge!! - October 6, 2005

Kym is one of 4 showcase artists who was voted back for the 'Most Wanted Song Swap' on the main stage for the 2006 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival coming up next summer. www.falconridgefolk.com

She will also be part of their 2006 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Preview tour. More news on that soon!
